The late Nigerian ambassador to Spain Demola Seriki will be buried on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
A notice obtained by Qed.ng on Thursday showed the former minister of state for defence and minister of state for interior will be buried at the Vaults and Garden in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
The funeral will begin at 2 pm with prayer at Central Mosque, Tinubu Square, Lagos Island. He will then be buried one hour later at Vault & Gardens, Ikoyi.
The final prayer will hold at 17 Queen’s Drive also in Ikoyi.
Seriki died on Thursday in the Spanish capital of Madrid at the age of 63.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu joined Nigerians in mourning him. He expressed sadness over Seriki’s death, describing it as painful, shocking and a big loss to Lagos and Nigeria.
In a statement by his chief press secretary Gboyega Akosile on Thursday, Mr Sanwo-Olu said Seriki’s death came at a time when his wealth of experience was mostly needed in the country.
He described the late Seriki as a businessman, politician, and public administrator, whose contributions remain indelible in the hearts of residents of Lagos State and Nigerian citizens as a whole.
