Deborah Archibong, mother of Don-Davis Archibong who was allegedly sexually assaulted at Deeper Life High School, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, has accused a former presidential aide Reno Omokri of threatening her.

Police had about a fortnight ago arraigned seven persons, including minors, before a Magistrate Court in Uyo over the alleged incident.

Despite a court order for Mrs Archibong to avoid making social media posts about the case, she released a video on Thursday, alleging she received threats from members of Deeper Christian Life Ministry which owns the schools, and other persons.

She claimed Mr Omokri asked her to apologise on national newspaper or television.

“My blood pressure, Bp is very high. Nigeria, the world at large, the threat is too much. Yesterday (Wednesday), before the court sat I told the lawyer I wanted to see the magistrate, but they said I could not,” she said.

“The threat is too much, someone sent me a message saying; how was the burial of your son? You are fighting a church, definitely you will bury your son. This thing is killing, we cannot say because matter is in court, I will keep quiet and die inside. One Mr Reno Omokri called me that I should go and apologise on national newspaper and TV.”

However, Omokri tweeted, saying he had never spoken with the woman.

“I have never called Don Davis’ mother or communicated with her in any way shape or form and I will pay the ₦100 million she demanded from Deeper Life if she proves I threatened her,” he wrote.

The Archibong family had demanded N100 million compensation for the trouble their son was allegedly subjected to in the school.
