DeeOne to employ over 700 in Guinness World Record comedy attempt

Comedian Aderombi Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, says he will employ over 700 people as part of his attempt to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest stand-up comedy performance.

In a video shared on Instagram, the former Big Brother Naija housemate explained that about 90 people will handle production while others will be engaged in catering, ushering, security and logistics.

“DeeOne’s show is employing over 700 people on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of October,” he captioned the post.

The 40-hour marathon is scheduled to hold at Pallazo Lagos, Opebi, Ikeja, from October 2 to 4.

DeeOne, who began his career performing in clubs and later gained fame on the reality show, has received an outpouring of support from entertainers.

According to reports, the Guinness World Records has already approved DeeOne’s attempt. The current benchmark for the record stands at about 40 hours, meaning DeeOne will have to surpass it for official recognition.
