D’banj ignores rape allegation, promotes virtual concert

Singer, D’banj, has shared a post to promote a virtual concert meant to create awareness about the coronavirus pandemic, ignoring the rape allegation levelled against him by a man who accused him of raping his friend in 2018.

The 39-year-old, real name, Dapo Oyebanji, shared the post on Instagram on Thursday.

“Everyone pls Stay safe, stay focused and in this trying times pls let’s not live in fear or hate but in love. Together we can defeat Covid-19…” he wrote.

The man identified as Benjamin Ese, with Instagram username @action_name, in the post he shared on Wednesday, alleges that D’banj used his influence as a celebrity to obtain the key to his friend’s hotel room after she had rebuffed his advances and sexually assaulted her.

Fellow singer, Peruzzi, was also hit by another rape allegation, this name by a woman identified as Princess.

United Kingdom-based singer, Daffy Blanco, had in January, claimed that the ‘Majesty’ singer sexually assaulted her in her hotel room.

Peruzzi has denied both allegations.
