DADDY SHOWKEY

Veteran galala singer, Daddy Showkey, on Saturday celebrated his birthday as he clocked 48.

In a series of post to Instagram, Daddy Showkey shared pictures wishing himself a happy birthday and appreciating God for another year of life.

Daddy Showkey made a name for himself from the slums of Ajegunle courtesy of the energetic galala dance and his songs delivery.

The ‘Ghetto Soldier’ performer has since become a symbol of urban culture and is one of Nigeria’s 90s music greats.

Daddy Showkey was part of a musical group known as Pretty Busy Boys with Daddy Fresh, Cashman Davies, and Sexy Pretty in the 90s.

The singer has recently taken up advocacy with many thinking he is set to change his career path. But he stated in an interview with Punch that he is not quitting music for advocacy.

“I have been an advocate right from time; music is inside me. I am always in the studio working, so it’s not as if I have left music for advocacy Showkey is still Showkey.”
