Controversial broadcaster and media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has officially joined The Honest Bunch podcast as one of its hosts.
The announcement was made on Sunday, on the podcast’s official Instagram page, accompanied by a new promotional poster featuring Daddy Freeze.
The caption read: “The Honest Bunch podcast just got more unfiltered. Get ready for hotter takes, deeper convos and unapologetic honesty. Say hello to our latest addition @daddyfreeze.”
Confirming the development on his Instagram page, Daddy Freeze wrote: “A new era has begun.”
Although the announcement clarified that Freeze was replacing Nedu Wazobia. His inclusion comes four months after Nedu stepped down as a co-host of the podcast, following a wave of controversy earlier this year.
In January, social media personality VeryDarkMan had accused Nedu of leveraging The Honest Bunch platform to exploit aspiring female entertainers by offering them visibility in exchange for sexual favours. This accusation came shortly after a heated episode featuring BBNaija star DeeOne, during which DeeOne claimed that VeryDarkMan was gay.
The confrontation quickly escalated online, with VeryDarkMan threatening to publish a list of names Nedu allegedly mentioned in private conversations.
In a subsequent press briefing, Nedu defended his decision to host DeeOne on the podcast and said he had no regrets, although he did not directly refute the misconduct allegations.
Known for its controversial takes on relationships, lifestyle and societal issues, The Honest Bunch has featured celebrity guests including Toke Makinwa, Iyabo Ojo and BBNaija’s Uriel.
The addition of Daddy Freeze who is widely known for his provocative views on religion, marriage and Nigerian pop culture—is expected to further heat up conversations on the show.
Daddy Freeze, a former Cool FM on-air personality and founder of the #FreeTheSheeple movement, has long been a polarising figure in Nigerian media for challenging religious doctrines and promoting open discussions on faith and societal hypocrisy.
