A Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has sentenced two men, Okwumo Nwabufo and Olisaeloka Ezike, to death by hanging for the killing of Cynthia Osokogu.

Miss Osokogu, a postgraduate student of Nasarawa State University, was murdered by her Facebook friends on July 12, 2012 at Cosmilla Hotel, Lakeview Estate in the Festac area of Lagos.

The daughter of a retired army general was lured to Lagos where she was raped and killed by the convicts.

Justice Olabisi Akinlade found the two men guilty, declaring that the circumstantial evidence brought by the state in proof of the six counts of conspiracy, murder and stealing against the accused persons were cogent, complete, unequivocal and compelling.

In sentencing the convicts, the judge said” Both of you should be hanged till you are dead. May the Lord have mercy on your souls.”

The judge discharged two other accused, Orji Osita and Nonso Ezike.
