Cybercriminals owe me for being jailed – Naira Marley

Naira Marley in court

Musician, Naira Marley, born Azeez Fashola, has disclosed that he went to prison as a form of sacrifice for cybercriminals popularly known as yahoo boys.

The ‘Issa Goal’ singer added that yahoo boys owe him for his stay in prison in a live video on Instagram on Sunday.

Speaking in Yoruba, he said: “Those of you that are yahoo boys owe me money because am I a Yahoo Boy? No, but I have gone to prison because of you.”

Naira Marley’s release came on Friday, 14 days after Justice Nicholas Oweibo had granted him bail with a condition of two sureties in like sum on May 31.

He is facing 11 counts bordering on cybercrime for allegedly conniving with one Yad Isril (at large) to use Access card issued to other persons in a bid to obtain gain, an offence contrary to Section 27(1) (b) of the Cybercrime Prohibition, Prevention Act 2015.

Reports have indicated that witnesses from financial institutions will testify at his next court appearance slated for October 22, 23 and 24.
