COVID-19: Lagos seals Lounge 38, Victoria Club

The police and the Lagos Safety Commission on Saturday sealed Lounge 38, Bode Thomas in Surulere and Victoria Club in Victoria Island for allegedly flouting COVID-19 rules.

The state government had earlier ordered the closure of nightclubs to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

According to tweets by Gawat Jubril the social media aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Commissioner of Police in Lagos Hakeem Odumosu led the team in the enforcement.

“The Lagos Commissioner of Police Mr Hakeem Odumosu together with the Lagos Safety Commission earlier today, led their team to enforce COVID-19 protocols across the state… First location: Lounge 38, Bode Thomas, Surulere,” he tweeted.

Mr Jubril said heavy sanctions would be taken against Victoria Club after the establishment broke government’s seal and reopened.

The task force also arrested all found clubbing at Colombia nightclub on Ajose Adeogun Road, Victoria Island.
