The Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned the senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, and Busola Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, over rape allegations levelled against the cleric.

According to a court document seen by TheCable on Monday, Fatoyinbo is to appear in court within 14 days.

Busola had filed a suit at a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja through her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, demanding “a personal letter of apology” from the cleric to show honest remorse for his misdeeds.

Fatoyinbo had in August faced questioning by the police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki Area 10, Abuja, where he was grilled by a team of detectives led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adaku Anya.

Busola alleged in June that Pastor Fatoyinbo raped her as a teenager in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The allegation caused a storm with protesters marching to the church in Abuja and its branch in Lagos to express their displeasure.

Force spokesman, Frank Mba, said that more pastors would be interrogated over the allegation.

Fatoyinbo had snubbed the panel set up by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to investigate the rape allegation.

He said he was advised by his lawyers not to appear before the panel because it was prejudiced and may not conduct an impartial session.
