A Magistrate’s Court in Ikeja, Lagos has restrained singer Mohbad’s father Joseph Aloba, Yomi Fabiyi, Bukky Jesse, Larry Omodia and Adewale Mariam from making comments about Wunmi Aloba, widow of the late singer and her son Liam.

The order, granted by Chief Magistrate M. O. Tanimola at Ogba Court 2 followed an ex parte motion filed by Wunmi and her son through her lawyer, O. C. Fasanmi.

According to the certified true copy of the order, the respondents are bound to “show cause why they should not be ordered to enter into a recognizance with sureties for their good behavior and keeping the peace for the next one year.”

The ruling effectively bars the named persons from bullying, threatening or inciting the public against Wunmi and her child.

It comes after months of heated exchanges and public debates surrounding Mohbad’s death.

Yomi Fabiyi has become one of the most vocal voices pushing for justice. He recently denied claims that he was profiting from the campaign, insisting that his only concern was truth and accountability.

The restraining order is seen as a move to protect Wunmi and her son from harassment amid ongoing disputes and speculations.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances. His death sparked protests, police investigations and a wave of online commentary.
