Coronavirus spreads to Delta, Katsina, total now 254 in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 16 new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The agency said in a tweet on Tuesday night that of the 16 new cases, 10 are in Lagos, two each are in the Federal Capital Territory and Oyo, while one each are in Delta and Katsina.

It said: “Sixteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina

“As of 09:30 pm 7th April there are 254 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths.”

The cases in Delta and Katsina are the states’ index cases. Lagos, however, now has 130 altogether, the FCT has 50 while Oyo has 11.
