Coronavirus: NCDC reports 195 new cases as Nigeria’s total hits 1,532

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 195 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.

The agency said on Twitter on Wednesday morning that of the 195 new cases, 80 are in Lagos, 38 in Kano, 15 in Ogun, 15 in Bauchi, 11 in Borno, 10 in Gombe, nine in Sokoto and five in Edo.

Others are five in Jigawa, two in Zamfara, and one each in Riivers, Enugu, Delta, the Federal Capital Territory, and Nasarawa.

“As of 11:50pm 28th April- 1532 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” the NCDC wrote.

The agency also put the total number of discharged patients at 255 while 44 others have died from the disease.

In another tweet, the NCDC said: “One case previously reported in Gombe State is now recorded as a Borno State case.

“Therefore the total number of cases in Borno is 53 and 46 in Gombe.”
