No less than 13 Nigerians from Togo Republic arrived the Seme Border Post in Lagos State in the early hours of Sunday following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

They arrived the post in a Toyota bus with Togolese registration number TG 5923 A.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed it received the returnees.

NIS spokesman, Sunday James, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said the returnees were technicians that went to install industrial machines in Togo.

According to James, the 13 returnees have been handed over to officials of the ministry of health in Lagos for medical test.

“We have called Lagos State Ministry of Health and they have promised to come and evacuate them to quarantine facility in Badagry,” he said in the statement.

The latest arrivals bring to 103 the total number of Nigerians that arrived through Seme border post after the border closure on March 21.

Sixty-seven Nigerians resident in Ivory Coast had returned on April 8 through Seme border.

Another batch of 23 Nigerians, who came from different parts of the world and landed in Lome, Togolese capital, on Ethiopian Airlines, arrived Seme border on April 19 and were quarantined in Lagos.
