Conspiracy established in Chidinma Ojukwu case, more suspects arrested – Police

Lagos police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu

Police in Lagos say they have established a case of conspiracy in the murder of the chief executive officer of Super TV Usifo Ataga.

“We have established a case of conspiracy in the murder and we have arrested more suspects,” Lagos police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu said on Wednesday during the parade of some suspects at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

He did not give further information on the arrested suspects.

A student of the University of Lagos Chidinma Ojukwu was paraded on June 24 as the prime suspect.

Ms Ojukwu had spent some time with Ataga before his corpse was found in an apartment in Lekki area of Lagos on June 16.

However, in a video that went viral on Monday, Ojukwu, 21, denied killing the Super TV CEO after earlier admitting guilt.

A conspiracy theory had posited that Ojukwu was forced to be with Ataga so the Super TV boss could be found cheating to give his wife Brenda leverage to divorce him and marry Ojukwu’s uncle.

The theory speculated that Ojukwu’s uncle threatened to withdraw sponsorship of her education if she refused.
