CJN Tanko under fire over Ihedioha’s sack

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, has come under criticism on social media over the judgement by the Supreme Court on Tuesday which sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Imo governor.

Mr Tanko led a seven-man panel of the apex court which made a unanimous decision to oust Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ordered the swearing-in of Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor.

The court ruled that the election petitions tribunal and the appeal court erred in upholding Ihedioha’s victory.

Nigerians on Twitter have aired their grievances over the judgement and the CJN.
