Chinedu Obasi

Forgotten Super Eagles star, Chinedu Obasi, has reportedly joined the bandwagon moving to China.

Obasi, 30, apparently followed the footsteps of Nigeria skipper, Mikel Obi, who was his teammate during their early days at Lyn Oslo.

The forward joins FC Shenzhen in the Chinese second division – coached by ex-England and Manchester City boss, Sven Goran Eriksson.

He is expected to champion the club’s quest to return to the Chinese top flight.

Obasi who has had somewhat a nomadic career last played for Swedish side, AIK.

It is understood that his deal with Shenzhen is for one year, with the option of extending for another year should all go according to plan.

However, it is unclear how much the former Nigeria U20 star will earn in the Asian country.

Obasi has made 18 appearances for the Eagles scoring four times.
