Chibok girl Joy Bishara, who escaped Boko Haram abduction, gets engaged to white lover in US

Chibok girl Joy Bishara and lover

Joy Bishara, a former student of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, who was among the 276 female students captured by Boko Haram in 2014, has got engaged to her white lover in the United States.

Ms Bishara and her cousin Lydia Pogu escaped while being transported by their abductors.

The duo was later given scholarships by the United States Government. They graduated from Southeastern University on April 30, 2021.

While Bishara earned a degree in social work, Pogu bagged a degree in legal studies.

Photos of Bishara’s lover going on his knee to propose to her at a beach have gone viral, eliciting congratulatory messages from well-wishers.
