CHAN 2016: I fed my players in Rwanda -Oliseh

Sunday Oliseh

Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has made a shocking revelation about how he used his own money to feed the team in Rwanda.

Nigeria crashed out of the 2016 African Nations Championship following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Guinea in their third Group C game.

The tactician who has received loads of criticism for failing to progress beyond the group phase blamed non-payment of allowances and bonuses for their ouster.

Oliseh revealed he used his personal fund to get the team going after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) failed to motivate his players.

“I spent $4,000 to feed the team because the food in camp was not good enough. I used my personal funds to get the team going for the interest of the nation,” he said in an interview on radio Thursday morning.

“We have family men who have been working hard for 50 days, but who couldn’t afford to buy a Coca-Cola. It was unbearable.

“And now they are going back home with nothing to give to their families.”
