Champions League: Iheanacho, Iwobi paint Europe with goals

Super Eagles youngsters, Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi, were in superb form for their respective clubs in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The pair who started for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively were on target as their sides cruised to the knockout phase of Europe’s elite club competition.

Iheanacho starting for the first time since October got his fifth goal of the campaign and second in the competition to help City draw Celtic 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City finish second on Group C behind Barcelona.

The 20-year-old struck three minutes after Patrick Roberts had given the visitors a shock lead.

His compatriot, Iwobi, finally got on the score sheet for the first time this season as the Gunners hammered Basel 4-1 to finish ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in Group A.

Iwobi remarkably buried a beautiful move orchestrated by German playmaker, Mesut Ozil, to add to Lucas Perez hat-trick.

Both players will be joined by Super Eagles deputy skipper, Ahmed Musa, whose Leicester City side have already booked their place in the round of 16 irrespective of what happens in their final game against FC Porto on Wednesday.
