Cordelia Okonye, mother of Augusta who was allegedly killed by celebrity gambler Benjamin Nnanyereugo aka Killaboi, has published the latter’s Sierra Leonean passport on social media.

She said Killaboi got the passport 15 days after the fatal stabbing of her daughter.

The date of issue of the passport reads July 28, 2023.

The passport also showed a change of name to Princeton Samuel Kanu with Freetown as place of birth.

“He got his passport 15 days after killing my daughter,” Okonye captioned her Instagram post on Saturday following announcement by the police that he had been arrested.

In another post, she said: “Ben on handcuffs @2am today. My family caught him and my son was there two weeks ago but he went into hiding because he was declared wanted.”

It was gathered that after Killaboi was declared wanted by the police in Lagos, the Sierra Leonean police got a tip-off after someone recognised the gambler.

Killaboi, 26, had said in July that he “mistakenly” stabbed his girlfriend after they got into an argument. He also said he ran away out of fear and has been suicidal since then.

Confirming his arrest, Lagos police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin told PUNCH on Saturday: “He was arrested by the Sierra Leonan Police Force and we are working on extraditing him to Nigeria.”
