Catholic school principal arrested after visiting strip club

Principal of a Catholic school in Port Allen, Louisiana, US, has been arrested after visiting a strip club while on a school field trip to Washington DC.

Spokesman of Diocese of Baton Rouge, Dan Borne, said the principal, Michael Comeau, was arrested early Thursday where he was with students from Holy Family Catholic School.

Policemen had received complaint from the strip club, Archibald’s Gentlemen’s Club, about “an intoxicated man refusing to pay his bill.”

The 47-year-old faces charges of public intoxication and possession of an open container of alcohol.

The diocese’s spokesman said Mr Comeau had resigned and that an interim principal would be appointed.

Comeau also resigned his position as a reserve Brusly Police officer.
