Cake festival holds in Ibadan

Cake festival IbadanA three-day Cake Festival dedicated to charity kicks off on Thursday, June 18 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Organised by Flour Crafters, the event holds at the Banquet Hall of the famous Premier Hotel in Mokola.

It will features baking competition with young bakers, cake exhibition with top bakers and charity auction for deaf students at Methodist Grammar School Bodija to renovate their classroom.

A special award will be given to an octogenarian cake maker who has trained many veterans in the baking profession.

Festival coordinator, Michael Salako, disclosed that other features of the festival include unveiling of the baking diadem and health/safety/insurance talks.

Chief Auctioneer is Nollywood veteran, Olumide Bakare, while the event chairman will be the Country Representative of International Cake Exploration Societé (ICES) in Nigeria, Mrs Chineze Ibuoka.
