Buruji Kashamu’s 26-year-old son Rasheed Kashamu wins Ogun Assembly seat

Rasheed Kashamu, son of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu, has won the seat for Ijebu North Constituency 1 at the polls for Ogun State House of Assembly held on March 18.

The 26-year-old will be the youngest state lawmaker in Ogun.

Kashamu, a member of the PDP, polled 7,107 votes to defeat the incumbent Sylvester Abiodun of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 6,866 votes.

Kashamu has a B.Sc in international business and management from Brunel University, London. He also has a Master of Science degree in international finance and investment from the University of Surrey.

His father, Senator Kashamu, who represented Ogun East in the eighth National Assembly, died on August 8, 2020.

In a similar vein, a 26-year-old Rukayat Shittu also won a seat at the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Shittu is a former Senate president of the Congress of NOUN Students (CONS) at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Rukayat will represent Owode/Onire constituency in Asa Local Government Area.
