Burna Boy criticises artistes who brag about streaming numbers

Afro-pop sensation, Burna boy, has advised his colleagues not to be deceived by their streaming numbers, adding that it is not an indicator of talent.

The 27-year-old singer said this in a post on InstaStories on Monday.

“If joke things like Baby Shark and Gangnam Style can do more numbers than everyone, do not think you are talented or respected because of your streaming numbers,” he wrote.

He then added that high streaming numbers does not mean an artist is respected or talented.

Burna Boy took to InstaStories last Wednesday to condemn Nigerian artists who jump at international deals.

He said that he was thankful to his manager and mother for ensuring that he would never be an “international victim.”

Burna is expected to release an album, African Giant, later in the year.
