Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, has commended the troops for foiling an attack by Boko Haram insurgents at Maisadari community in the outskirts of Damaturu, Yobe State.

In a statement on Friday, Acting assistant spokesperson, Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole, Njoka Irabor, said the commendation was conveyed to the troops by the Theater Commander, Benson Akinroluyo, on Thursday in Damaturu.

Several insurgents were killed by soldiers on Tuesday as they attempted to attack Maisadari community.

He also thanked residents for their support and cooperation which led to the successful defeat of the insurgents.

Akinroluyo charged the troops to remain professional and responsive, so as to effectively deal with terrorists in their area of operation.

He concluded that the military and other security agencies must collaborate to deny terrorists any freedom to operate.
