Buhari leaves Nigeria to attend summits in Jordan, UAE

President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja to attend World Economic Forum (WEF) in Jordan and an investment summit scheduled to hold in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a statement on Thursday posted by the presidency on Twitter, Mr Buhari would be accompanied on the trips by Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru; Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, and Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Also to join the entourage is Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno; and other top government officials.

Buhari will deliver an address at the opening of WEF alongside King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres.

He will also join world economic leaders in an informal gathering at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre.

The president will also hold bilateral meetings with some world leaders on the sidelines of the Forum.

He is expected to depart Jordan on Sunday for UAE to participate in the ninth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting.
