Muhammadu Buhari resumes

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of three chief executive officers of agencies in the Ministry of Information and Culture.

Those reappointed are director-general, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) Segun Runsewe, director-general, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) Folorunso Coker and executive director National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) Adedayo Thomas.

Immediate former chief executive officer/artistic director of the National Troupe of Nigeria Tar Ukoh was not reappointed.

Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed is to take over as substantive head of the national troupe.

Until his appointment, Ahmed was director of culture in the Bauchi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Managing director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, who was appointed along with Runsewe, Coker, Thomas and Ukoh in March 2017, got approval for a second term of four years in January 2021.

The others had to wait one month after the expiration of their first term on March 31 for confirmation of reappointment.

It is not immediately clear why Ukoh was not reappointed.
