Four Super Eagles players have so far contracted COVID-19 – Rohr

Gernot Rohr

Four Super Eagles players tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) since the outbreak of the pandemic, Coach Gernot Rohr announced on Thursday.

Rohr did not mention the affected players. He, however, said they have now fully recovered.

“I won’t reveal their names, they are fine now,” he said.

The team is in Austria for friendlies with Algeria and Tunisia.

The results of the COVID-19 tests carried out on the Super Eagles ahead of Friday’s game against Algeria are still being awaited.

The Super Eagles will take on Algeria on Friday at Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt following a change in the venue which was initially Jacques Lemans Arena.

The Worthersee stadium has 30,000 capacity seats compared to the initial venue in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia, which holds 2,420 spectators.

Nigeria will, however, play Tunisia on October 13 at Jacques Lemans Arena barring any last-minute change.
