A Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Kalu, of N7.1 billion fraud, bringing an end to the 12-year-old trial.
The former governor and his company, Slok Nigeria Limited, were found guilty on Thursday by Justice Mohammed Idris of all 39 counts of fraud.
Kalu was charged alongside the state commissioner for finance during his tenure as governor, Jones Udeogo.
Mr Udeogo was found guilty of 34 counts.
