The remaining 29 students abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Kaduna State have regained freedom.

Chairman of the Parents’ Committee Abdullahi Usman confirmed release of the students by bandits to Channels Television on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Mr Usman explained that the victims were released some minutes past 4pm around the Kidanda area in Giwa Local Government Area of the state, and were on their way back to the state capital.

He, however, did not disclose the amount paid as ransom to the bandits for the release of the students.

Thirty-nine students were abducted from their hostels in the college on March 11, 2021.

Ten students were initially released in two batches of five each.

Parents of the other students protested at the National Assembly on Tuesday, calling on authorities to ensure their safe return.
