Boy wins girl in Giade Bauchi love election

A young man has won an election conducted in Giade, Bauchi State to choose lover for a teenage girl.

This was disclosed in a Twitter post by “accidental journalist”, Mubarak Umar, on Friday.

According to Umar, the girl could not choose between two young men who were not ready to accept defeat without a contest.

An election was therefore conducted by elders of town to determine a winner.

The real name of the winner is Yunusa Hamza, while the loser is Ibrahim Giade.

Their love interest is 14-year-old Hajarah.

Over 500 people voted in the election. 

Giade Town is the headquarters of Giade Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The local government is the birthplace of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, who was born in the town of Doguwa.
