Body of a four-year-old boy, Oluwaposi Sobowale, has allegedly been found in a septic tank at Ikopa Tuntun area of Asero, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Sources said the child and his siblings were taken to their grandmother’s residence at Ikopa Tuntun on Monday, by one of his father’s apprentices at their mother’s request.

It was alleged that their grandmother was not home when the children arrived.

The apprentice was said to have left the children in the house to attend to a customer.

Hours later, one of the children went missing. Policemen from Obantoko Division were said to have found his body in a septic tank 24 hours after he was declared missing.

One source was quoted saying by The Nation, “What baffles us is the fact that we had checked the septic tank several times on the day the boy went missing. We were however shocked that his body was found in the same septic tank the following day.

“We suspect that he might have been killed; probably his head was smashed with a hard object as blood was still coming out of his nostrils at the time he was found.’’

Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, when contacted, said he had no information on the incident at the time.
