Bindow to know fate March 1 in alleged certificate forgery case

Adamawa governor Mohammed Bindow

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High court has fixed March 1 as date to deliver judgment in a suit seeking the disqualification of the Adamawa State Governor, Mohammed Bindow, from the governorship election, over alleged certificate forgery.

Bindow in the suit was alleged to have supplied false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in his INEC Form CF 001.

A group, Incorporated Trustees of Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, filed the suit.

The group accused the governor of forging his June 1983 West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate.

Justice Adeniyi fixed the date for judgment after counsels to all parties in the suit argued and adopted their respective briefs for and against the suit.
