Benue youths ‘kill’ pastor accused of stealing penis

Police in Benue have begun investigating the death of a cleric Uhembe Jacob founder of Divine Shadow Church in Daudu, Guma area council of the state.

Uhembe was killed after youths alleged he masterminded the disappearance of penis.

Youths have been protesting in the town for over two weeks, saying their male organs were disappearing.

Last Tuesday, they lit up the apartment of the preacher.

It was gathered the youths first accused one Ernest Tsuwe; the man then hung himself.

Afta the protest, village elders held a general meeting on November 3 where they identified Ernest as friends with one Saka Noah and Prophet Uhembe.

They accused them of using black magic to remove male organs and ask people to pay money to have it restored.

It was learnt that this development infuriated the youths who clamped down on Saka but he was rescued by the police.

Uhembe got into his car and headed for Lafia road, Nasarawa. He was allegedly waylayed by the youths and killed.

Uhembe’s body was found in the bush on Friday.

Madam Catherine told BBC Pidgin that no penis disappearance happened in Daudu and that all the boys taken to the hospital turned out fine.

Residents loyal to the pastor staged a peaceful demonstration on Sunday.

Benue Police Command has deployed anti-riot police team to forestall break down of law and order. Eight persons have been arrested.

Police spokesperson Kate Aneene confirmed the killing and said investigation has commenced.
