BBNaija star Adekunle Olopade has thanked the Lagos State Police Command for taking swift action after he raised the alarm over alleged police harassment.

Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Adekunle said, “In the last few days, the only news you’ve heard from me has been difficult, but at this very moment, I would like to share some good news with you.”

He added, “I want to use this opportunity to thank The Lagos State Police Command Complaint Response Unit for their prompt attention to this matter. From reaching out, swinging into action the moment the news broke, and following up to make sure everything was okay.”

Adekunle revealed he had been in touch with the ACP in charge of Area J Command, Elemoro, Ibeju Lekki, and provided all the details. “I am happy to let you know that I just left the Elemoro Police Station and thanks to the effort and investigation of ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, the police officers were found, and disciplinary action has been taken against them,” he said.

He added, “Justice has been served! I can’t begin to describe how much of a heavy burden and emotional weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The mere fact that justice can be served at a time where public trust for the police is very low is truly encouraging.”

Advising others, Adekunle said, “For everyone who has ever been treated badly at the hands of police officers, please make sure you report the case. Get as much evidence as you can and take the matter up. The Lagos State Complaint Response Unit … works.”

This follows claims that Adekunle was held for eight hours by police, handcuffed and harassed. “What a night! Kidnapped, harassed, and handcuffed by the Nigerian Police Force in the last 8 hours. This story could have ended differently, and no one would have known. But glory be to God, I’m alive today,” he had written.
