Baba Sala discharged from hospital

Baba SalaNigeria theatre legend, Moses Adejumo Olaiya, popularly known as Baba Sala, was discharged from the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan on Monday.

A report in The Nation quoted UCH spokesman, Deji Bobade,  as saying Baba Sala has fully recovered and has been discharged.

He did not disclose what the 80-year-old comedian was treated for.

In his words “Baba Sala was discharged at 3:47p.m after he recovered from the ailment. Baba Sala has fully recovered now and has been discharged. We gave him necessary medical care. If he’s not alright, we would not have discharged him.”

His son, Emmanuel, also took to Facebook to thank friends and fans for their concern.

He wrote: “To the glory of God, my daddy has been discharged from the hospital today. I want to use this opportunity to thank all friends and fan of my daddy for the love, care and concerns. He actually thanks everyone for all comments and love.”

Chief Medical Director at UCH, Prof. Temitope Alonge, had earlier said that the hospital would be responsible for the medical bill of the beloved actor.

Baba Sala was rushed to the hospital on August 17 after he collapsed at his house in Ilesa, Osun State.
