Baba Sala buried in Ilesa hometown amid tears

Veteran Yoruba comedian Moses Adejumo popularly known as Baba Sala has been laid to earth on Friday in his country home in Ilesa, Osun State.

The 81-year-old died on October 7 after suffering a stroke.

At the funeral service held for the deceased at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Model Parish District Headquarters in Ilesa, S.O Adeoye enjoined Christians to live a life worthy of emulation.

Mr Adeoye said the late comedian who lived an exemplary and fulfilled life should serve as a worthy example for all.

Adeoye urged the congregation to lay their treasures in heaven where they will not be consumed by ants.

Supreme Head of Cherubim and Seraphim Church Solomon Alao said the deceased was not a member of any cult group while alive.

“Late Adejumo came, saw and his life was meaningful for he impacted joy and happiness on many lives.

“His talents, plays, script and performance shaped many lives; Adejumo would forever remain in the people’s heart,’’ Alao said.

Baba Sala popularized theatre and television acting in Nigeria alongside dramatists like Hubert Ogunde, Kola Ogunmola, Oyin Adejobi and Duro Ladipo.

Some of his blockbuster movies include Mosebolatan, Aare Agbaye, Agba Man, Obe ‘Gbona, Return Match, Diamond and Ana Gomina.
