Matrix Homes & Properties Ltd has fired comedian Olanrewaju Omiyinka, alias Baba Ijesha, as brand ambassador.
The company disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Baba Ijesha is currently in police custody for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Matrix said in the statement posted on social media that the embattled entertainer ceases to be its ambassador “following his recent misconduct which is antithetical to our company’s values.”
The Lagos-based company concluded that it “dissociates itself in entirety from Baba Ijesha.”
Comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, earlier in the week identified herself as guardian of the teenager allegedly assaulted by Baba Ijesha.
She has received solidarity from fans and celebrities including Iyabo Ojo, Biodun Okeowo, Femi Branch, Tonto Dikeh and Ronke Oshodi-Oke.
Baba Ijesha lists Trophy beer as one of the products he has endorsement deal with.
