AY calls Saka ‘daddy’ on 57th birthday

Comedian and actor AY Makun has called Nollywood actor Saka “daddy” as he celebrated the veteran actor on his 57th birthday.

AY who recently clocked 49 took to Instagram on Thursday, August 20 to appreciate Saka.

He wrote: “Happy birthday to our daddy @simplysaka. We love you so much. #thespians.”

Actor Sanyeri also took to his Instagram page to pray for the actor.

“Happy birthday to you sir. Wishing you many fruitful years in good health and sound health,” the man born Olaniyi Afonja wrote.

Other celebrities who joined to celebrate the comic star on social media are Broda Shaggi, Salami Rotimi and Woli Arole among others.

 “@simplysaka. Thanks for the Everything sir . More life to come,” Broda Shaggi wrote.

Actor Salami Rotimi wrote: “Happy birthday to a rare gem. Happy birthday to you Daddy. You are indeed a superhuman. Thanks for been you sir.”

Comedian Princess and Woli Arole also referred to him as “dad”.

Born Hafiz Oyetoro, the Oyo State indigene has been instrumental to the rising of many stars in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Art at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Lagos State.

Saka is known for his comic roles in Nollywood movies and has featured in multiple Nigerian films.

“I do not sing because I don’t have the voice to sing. But I compose and write songs very well,” he told Punch newspapers in an interview in February.

“I dance but not professionally because I have being privileged to study theatre as my first and second degrees… entertainment does not have a retirement age. Even in one’s grave, if one still has the opportunity, one can do something. I do not intend to retire from the entertainment scene. I want to be there for as long as I can.”
