Aubameyang supports Nigeria for World Cup

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has surprisingly settled for Nigeria as his adopted team at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Aubameyang’s Gabon failed to make the party yet the ex-Borussia Dortmund superstar would be glued to his screen, rooting for the Super Eagles.

The 28-year-old’s inexplicable affection for the West African nation is due to his close bond with Gunner teammate, Alex Iwobi.

The other reason being Nigeria’s charming Nike kits.

Aubameyang took to Twitter on Thursday to declare his team for the Mundial with a photo of Iwobi and Wizkid.

Iwobi responded in agreement.

Aubameyang only moved to the Emirates in January but it appears he’s found close companionship in the Nigerian.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group D alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.
