Asiwaju in coma, not dead, brother says

Lagos businessman Michael-Asiwaju

Dapo Asiwaju, brother of a Lagos businessman, Michael Asiwaju, who was reported to have committed suicide, has denied reports of his brother’s death.

Reports went viral on Saturday that Mr Asiwaju had died after allegedly consuming deadly substance, Sniper, on January 13.

Asiwaju had been facing allegations of rape before the alleged incident.

However, his brother took to Twitter on Saturday to say that his brother was not dead but was in coma.

He implored social media users and news outlets to stop spreading fake news about his brother’s state.

“My brother isn’t Dead, he’s in Coma. Y’all should please stop spreading False information,” he wrote.

Asiwaju, who is better known as Mike Cash, the founder of Asiwaju Royal Furniture, was accused of raping a woman in his car in May 2017.

A Twitter user made the allegation but said she did not have enough information.

In an attempt to prove herself, she posted a chat history between him and the said woman.

In reaction to the accusations, he posted sex videos of some of the girls claiming that there were his girlfriends.

Asiwaju claimed that his mother had died after hearing of the incident but sources who know him refuted the claim and said that his parents had long been dead.

Thereafter, he alleged that it was his former colleague, who is now involved in politics, that was responsible for the accusations.
