Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala has left fans worried after she posted a gloomy tweet that she deleted moments later.
The Barcelona forward had suffered depression in 2015.
Tweeting on Thursday, Oshoala said, “Life is just unfair…. tired of trying.”
Her tweet did not go unnoticed before being deleted.
Oshoala lost her mother last year and only recently recovered from a serious injury.
The 27-year-old has been in spectacular form for her club, with six goals in the last four games. She is the highest goal scorer in the La Liga female league.
A post she made in 2015, the year she won the BBC women’s footballer of the year award, had raised concerns over her mental health.
“I’m tired of life, I want to leave already,” she had written.
