Army denies reckless treatment of woman hit by military vehicle

The Nigerian Army has reacted to a report alleging that a woman accidentally hit by one of its vehicles was recklessly treated.

The report in question was said to have claimed the woman was left unattended to after being hit by a military Hilux last Friday at Ogbor Hill Water Side Bridge, along Aba/Ikot Ekpene highway.

In several tweets on Monday, the army said the victim’s family had been contacted and she had been united with them.

The army also said the victim was taken to Rosevern Hospital on Owerri Road, Aba for medical treatment and her medical bill was paid by the army.

It added that the accident was immediately formally reported to the appropriate army authority in whose area of responsibility the accident happened.
