Former governor of Osun State Rauf Aregebsola has clashed with a Nigerian in the United States.

The minister of interior was accosted by the Nigerian, a male adult, at a restaurant in the United States.

Qed.ng reported earlier that Aregbesola left Nigeria last Friday to attend a conference slated for Monday in Germany by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).

The minister boycotted the Saturday governorship election in Osun as he is not in good terms with the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola who is seeking re-election.

Sources who craved anonymity because they were not authorised to speak on the matter told Premium Times that Aregbesola could have travelled on Sunday but chose to leave on the eve of the state’s governorship election “for some obvious reasons.”

A video of Aregbesola’s clash with the unknown man has since gone viral.

The man insists in the video that Aregbesola cannot stop him from recording. “This is America, this is not Nigeria. You can’t stop me from recording. If you touch me I’ll sue you,” the man threatens.

Aregbesola however says the man was invading his privacy. A woman believed to be the minister’s wife also tries to intervene but was unsuccessful until the involvement of the facility’s management.
