APC’s only female presidential aspirant Uju Ohanenye steps down for Tinubu

The only female presidential aspirant in the All Progressives Congress Uju Ohanenye has stepped down to support Bola Tinubu.

“Nigeria needs a leader and I decided to be the mother of the country. Nigeria is lacking women’s expertise,” she said at the convention on Tuesday.

“I thank you so much, but I have found out that we need more time for that to happen. I am pleading with delegates to know that their votes are life savers. Think of your children and mothers before you vote.

“Vote for someone that will ensure the brighter future of our children. I feel I should step aside for that life saver and the best candidate who is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. I beg my supporters to vote for Tinubu.”

More than 2,300 APC delegates are gathered at the Eagle Square to elect the party’s presidential candidate.

Recently, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was elected the presidential candidate of the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
