Actress Annie Idibia has reacted to the ruling of a Federal High Court that local government councils are statutorily responsible for issuing marriage certificates in Nigeria.

Justice Daniel Osaigor gave the ruling in a suit marked FHC/ LS/CS/816/18 and filed by Eti Osa Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos. The LGA challenged the power of the interior ministry to operate marriage registries, conduct weddings and issue marriage certificates.

It was not immediately clear if the court nullified all weddings conducted by the Ikoyi registry.

Reacting in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Annie Idibia wrote: “Oh my Gaddd oo! lol My fellow legally married brethren so we are all not married like this? Lol Traditional marriage and white marriage count abi?

“Today issues on being a Nigerian. Una well-done ooo! Lol me sha I am almost 10 years married as it is.”

Annie Idibia got married to music star 2face on May 2, 2012.

Their marriage is blessed with two girls, Isabella and Olivia.
