Angela Okorie drums support for Shatta Wale as trial continues

Actress Angela Okorie has thrown her weight behind dancehall artiste Shatta Wale who is currently on trial over allegations of false information after the singer claimed he was shot.

The actress declared her support for the Ghanaian singer on Instagram on Friday.

Condemning the arrest, Angela stated that Wale is being judged based on his physical appearance which has nothing to do with his humanity.

“Africans concentrate on irrelevant things. A person’s look has nothing to do with what they can offer to humanity, see beyond look. Shatta Wale is a good guy simple,” she wrote.

The Ghanaian star was arrested on October 19. Shatta and his three accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator were however granted bail of GH¢100,000 each on October 26.

They appeared in court on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, where it was ruled that the phones of the accused be returned to them. The police had argued that they were investigating the matter and pleaded with the court to grant an order to access the phone.

The lawyer of the accused, however, pleaded with the court to release the phones on the ground that they serve as sources of livelihood to the accused persons.

The case has been adjourned to December 7, 2021.
