Amaechi runs around stadium ‘to show fitness’ for presidency

Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi on Saturday ran around Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta, near Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital before declaring his presidential ambition.

The former Rivers State governor said it was “to show fitness” for the top job. A recording of the fitness run has since gone viral.

Amaechi will be hoping to beat his biggest rival for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, whose fitness has been a major concern for many.

Last year, Tinubu spent several months in the United Kingdom undergoing knee surgery.

Others in the APC who are running for president are Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, and Senator Rochas Okorocha.
