Amaechi bags traditional title from Buhari’s hometown Daura

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

Emir of Daura Umar Farouk Umar will on February 5 decorate the minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi with the title of Dan Amanar Daura (trusted son of Daura).

The ceremony will be held at the emir’s palace in Daura, Kastina State, hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Amaechi will be given the traditional title in recognition of his contributions to the socio-economic development of the country, according to the spokesman of the ministry of transportation Eric Ojiekwe on Friday.

In a statement, Ojiekwe said the minister will be honoured, especially for his effort in bringing to life the rail sector that has been moribund for over three decades.

”The highlight of the occasion will be a royal durbar in honour of the minister and invited dignitaries,” he added.

Transportation University spearheaded by Amaechi is currently being built in Daura.
